Virtual bag of bones

Lily is losing weight so fast. She eats a little and then throws up, not all the time. We have had an x-ray, ultrasound and blood work. All normal. I don't know what else to do. We have a weight check today.

Last night she wasn't purring. Not a good sign.

I made her scrambled eggs, nothing.
I gave her some tuna, slight eating.

I don't know what to do.

Cleared for take off

We had to go to the nurse this morning before she was able to go back to her class. She was cleared for take off.

I have heard from other mother's that I must be vigilant and continue to comb her hair every night.

The boys are still clear, but we must keep checking them as well.

Me? I have not fared as well. Totally TOTALLY sucks!

Oh no

I got a call from the school nurse today. Oldest had been complaining of an itchy head. Yup, BINGO! We have lice!!! We are using the Nuvo Method of Lice removal. I just finished the blow drying step. Now we must go gather the boys as our babysitter is flipping out and frankly, who can blame her!

Lily does NOT have a blockage, but something is wrong. We will continue our tests next week. New food that she did eat and did not throw up. Good news.

Baby has strep. On his bum.

Middle? Well so far he is fine!

Lily

We brought Lily to the vet on Monday. 6 weeks ago she weighed 12.1 pounds. On Monday she weighed 9.8 pounds. All tests were negative and/or normal. Last night I bought her some baby food. She did pretty well with it. However, this morning she was not interested. It won't be long before the situation will become emergent.
I have complete confidence in my parenting abilities and my ability to investigate the kids ailments, but I am flying blind when it comes to the kitties. I now wonder if one of her teeth hurts. She won't eat the hard food. We gave her a treat last night and was all over it until she had to chew it. The baby food she was able to lap it up.
A week after her fall is when she began to throw up pretty regularly. Last week I noticed how thin she was. This weekend Auntie K said she was too thin. The vet is puzzled but we will talk today to figure out our next steps.
Good thoughts please!

There is nothing better than sisters

Which is why my heart aches for Oldest that she is a girl with two brothers. Both of my sister's came out yesterday. I can't describe how absolutely blessed I am to have these two women in my life. I don't have to explain all of the stuff that is going on with us, they know. They spring into action. They came here, each in their own cars, so we could all go apple picking. KD had the car.

KD was working yesterday and had the car. Then they took the kids on a quick bike ride while I cleaned up the kitchen. Auntie B left with her share of apples to bake a pie for Happy Valley's mother in law's party. Auntie K took the older two kids to get their Halloween costumes.

I put on Iron Giant for Baby who fell asleep soon thereafter. KD and I actually went out for a date! We had a gift card and Auntie K stayed with the kids. We talked all about our current situation and we wouldn't change any of the big decisions that we have made. We had a grand time.

We sure are lucky to have such great family.

Oh and we sold the Volvo!

Potty's and cars

I know it isn't a good thing when your FOUR year old asks you if you want to FEEL his poop. Granted it was dried on his underwear, but still! I know it isn't a good thing when your baby sitter asks how your FOUR year old does with wiping his bum because at her house he doesn't. And when she told him to, he threw the toilet paper on the floor, after he wiped his bum. I still know it isn't a good thing when you walk into the bathroom, smell a poop and inquire if your FOUR year old has wiped his bum and he says, "not yet."

It really isn't his fault, at least I don't think it is, I mean isn't it up to me to TEACH him to wipe his bum? But then after that it is all his fault!

We finally filed our 2007 income tax last week. We are using the refund to purchase a pellet stove so we can afford to heat our most drafty, 140 year old, 1,100 sq ft home, at a reasonable cost to our family.

We are also desperately seeking financing for a "new" car because the Volvo has finally been declared dead. It needs work totalling ~$1,000 and that wouldn't guarantee that it will last.

It has been a stressful week, for sure. In spite of it all , we celebrated a wedding anniversary, the kids are healthy and above all, we will get through this...together.

It was not an easy decision, I am sure

Today I learned that dear friends of mine had a baby 37 years ago and gave her up for adoption. This was revealed to their oldest daughter in December of 2007.

My friends were 17 when they made this difficult decision and for them, it was the right one. They went on to get married and have 5 beautiful children.

Their oldest daughter and I talk sporadically and today we talked for a long time. Today we searched the internet, her at her home in Maryland and me here. She called me hours later to tell me she had found her sister or someone she thought was her sister. She emailed her and got a response.

I cannot fathom what is going through the young lady's mind right now after having been contacted by her sibling. I have goose bumps running up and down my entire body.

Seven Years ago Today

I married the greatest guy in the world! Even after all these years and three kids I would do it all over again.

I love you KD!!!!

A WHOLE WEEK

WOW!

I cannot believe it has been a WHOLE week since I last posted. Jeesh! You would think it was super ridiculous out of control busy at work and/or Rosh Hashanah was this week or somethin'.

It has been WILD in Cozy Town, but we are all well. Kids are great. I fired the bus service, they stink. Oldest is a little sick and was home today. Lots of funny things, I just can't remember them all.

Up and down and all around = life.
