Slightly Awkward

Um, yeah this advertisement prompted a lot of questions from Oldest. It was in my Parent's magazine. I brushed it off and said that it was a funny bed. But on the next page came this...

I was stumped...so I closed the magazine and moved on...I mean she is ONLY five. Not the time to tell her all about her period!!

Yikes!

What a strange ad campaign. I will have to watch for it. My boys ask whenever they see both pads and tampons what they are for. Aaron called the pads with wings "butterflies" and played with them when he'd find them when he was little.

How about this......
Your watching T.V with your nine year old son and an add for a new "fingertip personal massager" comes across the screen.
Three middle aged women in a restaurant discussing how you can use the new little wonder widget anywhere!

Whatever > (

They're definitely eye-catching.

And so is your new header - looks great!

At 5 my girls were sticking them all over themselves and calling them bandaids. Good Lord, she'd want to stay 5 if she knew she had a period to look forward to!

I was always open and upfront with my kids about sex or things concerning the body. I always felt "forewarned is forearmed", ha! But I must admit the TV commercials and media ads are so beyond tasteless anymore. And keep in mind my daughter started her period at age 10...only 5 years older than your little one! It'll be here before you know it.
