Almost

When discussing the current situation with getting Middle to school with KD, he said, "Whatever is efficient and cost effective." I know I am suffering from mother anxiety and guilt.

But it would be an adventure for him, right?
But he will be the only child being picked up through a service.
But that would make him feel special, right?

Or it could make him feel like an out cast. When all the other kids are being greeted by hugs and smiles, he will be met with a cordial chauffeur.

I spoke to them yesterday and, of course, we are a little farther from their service area but it would only cost us a few dollars extra per week. They are sending me all the information.

H E L P - I need some moral support from all you guys!

try it and see how it goes. If it doesn't work out, you'll find another option. I know I am simplifying it but you have looked for a solution and this is the one that seems most cost effective and efficient. You'd probably be sad or worried if you were dropping him off yourself too. :)

I agree with scargosun... just see how it goes. He could love it, he could hate it. And, it could just become what it is...

the alternative would be finding a parent with a child in his same class. Seeing if you can pay them a little every week for them to take him to the sitters. it would be extra play time for the kids and most people really don't mind helping someone out.

Ditto. You never know... Middle could think it's the greatest thing EVER!

I think if it's worth getting Middle to preschool, you should give it a try. If it's something he's really looking forward to and it's a viable option, maybe you just need to get accustomed to it and eventually you'll feel good about it.

Hope that helps.

Oh Betsy,
It is a very hard call.
You know, he will adapt, no matter what.
It's whether you can push that Mummy guilt down.

Hugs.

I hated having to deal with preschool transportation - such a pain... We've done all sorts of different things - Ron and I switched off dropping off and picking up for a while, then one year I dropped Abby off and another mom took her back to daycare afterward. Thankfully our current (former?) daycare is across the street from where Becca will go, so if I'm back working by then, she can just get walked across the street.

I hated not being the one to pick Abby (and then Hannah) up - but I knew that they would much rather go however they could. It was only a big deal to me, not to them.

Good luck with whatever you decide!
