Is she trying to tell me something? She stayed upstairs all day and all night. She slept close and put her head on mine. No purring. This is a decision I don't want to make, but it may be time.

She is dwarfed by him now.
All tests, including ultra sound, came back normal. As KD and I discussed, if she truly wasn't eating she would be gone by now. I just don't know what to do...my heart hurts.

Is she in pain? If she is not suffering, let her be. Part of the dying progress is we stop eating. Do not force food, it will make it worse--learned that from the hospice workers. She could be staying close because she knows her time is near. As long as she is not in pain, stay close ,love her and she will leave peacefully.

One more thing--we can go awhile without eating. The body will use up everything up when it is dying.( learned that from a hospice worker too) ML had not had anything to drink in 5 days and her foley bag ( urine collection bag) was full when she died.
The body is an amazing thing.

I'm so sorry. I know that is so tough to sit and watch. I agree...ask the vet if she is pain. If not, let her be. My cousin had a cat that did the same thing for YEARS. She lived for 17 years before passing away. ((hugs))
