That is a nice quote! I read a book called "Making Your Home a Spiritual Refuge" once and it suggested things like cooking and eating at home to make it your family's spiritual refuge. I wonder if you've found other things to make your home a place your kids love? I can tell from your pictures that you've got a good sense for interior design, that must help.
